This month can be a bit of a tricky one for holiday destinations. It’s still a bit early in the year for high temperatures in Europe if you’re looking for a beach break. And the weather’s starting to turn in long-haul destinations - with heavy rain in several countries which are great choices over the winter. And with the school holidays, prices can be quite high. If you don’t want to travel too far, and you’re looking for a beach holiday where it will be warm – then Cyprus and Morocco with average highs of 23 degrees would be my recommendations.
For beach destinations further afield, the weather in the Caribbean, the Seychelles, the Philippines and the Maldives will be hot. And April’s a great time to visit Florida with long sunny days and average highs of 28 degrees.
If you want to combine the beach with a bit of exploration - April is the hottest month of the year in Costa Rica, with temperatures hovering in the late 30s, and there isn’t much in the way of rain. And April is Cherry Blossom season in Japan – and it’s a month of celebration, when streets are awash with glorious pink blossoms, sakura-inspired treats are in shops, hotels and cafés, and Hanami picnics carpet the beautiful parks. South Korea puts on equally dazzling displays come springtime, with flower-related festivals held in capital Seoul in April.
For an April city break, you can’t do much better than the iconic Italian cities of Florence and Rome which are beautiful in the spring sunshine. Or head to Amsterdam where crowds of tulips unfold across the city’s parks and gardens.
Whatever kind of holiday you're looking for, get in touch and let’s sort out your spring break.
