NAMIBIA
Few countries in Africa can match Namibia's sheer natural beauty. And this country ticks so many different boxes.
Sossusvelei
You'll probably have seen photos of the sand dunes around Sossusvlei. But seeing them in real life is awe-inspiring. And floating over these massive dunes in a hot air balloon in the early morning is an unforgettable experience.
Damaraland and Twylfontein
You'll be amazed by the rocky landscapes of Damaraland which is like being on another planet. And don't miss Twyfelfontein - one of the most famous rock art concentrations in Africa featuring more than 5,000 petroglyphs and 200 rock paintings.
Wildlife
And last (but definitely not least) Namibia is one of Southern Africa's best places to watch wildlife, and a particularly high population of rhinoceros. With great lodges and really welcoming people, it's an excellent choice as a safari destination.
LOCATION HIGHLIGHTS
TRAVEL GURU SUMMARY
You can travel around by light aircraft (as I did), or self drive in a 4x4 is a good value option. I really enjoyed my trip here and highly recommend a visit.
DONT MISS...
Make sure you include time in Damaraland in your itinerary – the other-worldly landscapes and desert-adapted wildlife were some of the highlights of my trip.
